The above was the projected scenario for a small , but really wonderful, part of the Wild Coast. The European Union provided the funds and Mtentu Camp was transformed into Mtentu Lodge, together with a central gathering lodge and 6 cabins. Unfortunately, the above trail did not last for too long. Difficulties in management, bookings and disagreements amongst the local people caused the trail and the Mtentu lodge to fade away into oblivion. The camp at Kwanyana also unfortunately burnt down.
